### 1-2. Fun Facts about Computers 1
Computers are an essential part of modern life, but their history is surprisingly fascinating! The first computer was developed in the 1940s and was called “ENIAC.” Believe it or not, it was the size of a room and weighed about 30 tons! In contrast, today’s computers can be as small as the size of your fingertip. Just think about it — the fact that modern computers have replaced those gigantic calculating machines is like something out of a movie!
What’s even more interesting is that the first computers were not user-friendly. You needed specialized knowledge to operate them. The first programmer was a woman named Ada Lovelace, who is often referred to as the “mother of programming.” Her legacy is still remembered today, and knowing this background makes using a computer feel even more special!
Lastly, inside a computer are countless tiny components called transistors. These little guys are what make computers work! The invention of the transistor happened in the 1950s, and without it, modern computers might not exist. The evolution of technology is truly amazing!

### 2-2. Fun Facts about Computers 2
The CPU, or “Central Processing Unit,” is often referred to as the “brain” of the computer. This brain has evolved from “vacuum tubes” to “transistors,” which has dramatically increased computer speeds! Early vacuum tubes would heat up and often fail, but transistors are smaller and more durable, making them indispensable in modern computers.
Interestingly, the current CPUs are in a constant race for speed, with new models released every year. You might have heard terms like “octa-core” or “dual-core,” which refer to the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously. As of 2023, there are even CPUs with over 50 cores! It’s like having superpowers for your computer!
Even more astonishing is the technique called “overclocking,” which allows you to push a CPU’s performance beyond its normal limits. While this can make your computer run faster, it does generate a lot of heat, so caution is advised. But the thrill of successfully overclocking your computer is hard to beat! The world of technology feels like an exciting game, doesn’t it?

### 3-2. Fun Facts about Computers 3
The evolution of computers is truly remarkable! In the early 2000s, a typical computer cost over $1000, but now you can find high-performance models for less than half that price. Thanks to this, people ranging from students to seniors can easily access computers. This is a significant step towards bridging the “digital divide”!
Moreover, the evolution of computers goes hand-in-hand with the Internet. Did you know that the physical speed of the Internet is the speed of light? When data travels through fiber optics, it moves at about 300,000 kilometers per second! That’s fast enough to circle the Earth seven and a half times! As communication speeds have increased, our lives have become more convenient.
Additionally, computers have become more than just work tools; they are now at the center of entertainment. People play games, watch movies, and chat with friends online. In fact, it’s estimated that billions of hours of gaming take place worldwide every month! Knowing this makes the existence of computers feel even more special, doesn’t it?
